B104 was a radio station that served the Rio Grande Valley for 30 years. It was a popular way to learn what the weather and traffic was like going to and from work. It was a way to listen to your favorite songs, win concert tickets, request music and shout-out your friends. In 2004, B104 became “Wild 104: The Valley’s Party Station,” changing the sound and vibe of a station loved by so many.
Tuning into B104 meant settling near your boombox and waiting for your favorite radio DJ to come on air. After getting comfy in your bedroom while talking to your friend on your cordless house phone, you turn the radio dial over. Static crackles to 104.1. The soft sound of a piano swirls through the room. It is midnight in the RGV.
Midnight Magic was a radio show hosted by Cool Raul. He was 18 years old when he hosted this romantic dedication and request line. He remembers feeling like a counselor to older listeners who told him their problems. He sat on the other end at the radio station, being a listener and bridge between lovers, crushes, and the heartbroken. Radio was the fastest way to communicate with people, especially if you had one phone in the house. One of Raul’s most memorable times at B104 was the fourth of July concert where Selena performed.

Made of 100% USA cotton, this textile is beefy, durable, and absorbent, and is virtually shrink free as a result of garment dyeing. The garment is washed with natural enzymes, resulting in a broken-in feel, just like a T-shirt that was washed or worn for a decade or two. Its special features include its heavy and sturdy feel and combined with a more generous fit (about 1 wider on the flat then a contemporary T-shirt) and higher neck line.
